The seminar course “Sustainability Science” provides an overview of fundamental concepts of sustainability science from an engineering point of view. Content: • Climate change • Change in biosphere integrity • Stratospheric ozone depletion • Ocean • Biogeochemical flows (phosphorus and nitrogen cycles) • Land-system change (for example deforestation) • Freshwater use • Atmospheric aerosol loading (microscopic particles in the atmosphere that affect climate and living organisms) • Introduction of novel entities • Energy • Resources Class-hours: 30 Begin: 02/04/2025 End: 14/05/2025 This project is a joint initiative between four higher education institutions: - Germany: Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI). - Brazil: Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR).
