NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN MAPPING AND PLANNING: DRONES AND GIS

I DPAE International Summer School

The course aims to teach the potentialities of using drones for urban survey and historical built heritage and how to use a geographic information system in the planning of UFSC main campus. Theoretical and practical classes (covering principles, legislation and software use) will be taught at the Trindade Campus facilities, in addition to a field activity (drone flight). At the end of the course, students are expected to have notions of how to produce photogrammetric products (orthophoto mosaic, digital surface model, three-dimensional model) by using sensors embedded in drones and to create a geographic information system. The entire course will be taught in English.
