This course is devoted to the history of science, medicine and technology from earliest times to the present day. We will discuss methodologies, scientific breakthroughs and the impact of science on society, as well as review the current state of knowledge and possibilities for future research. The first part of the course will be an introduction to the history of science from pre-history to the present. It is designed to serve as an introduction for those who have no prior background in the field and to deepen the knowledge of those who already do. The second part of the course will focus on the most important contributions of science to humanity. By reviewing the current scientific literature, we will discuss about the ongoing developments in several scientific fields, such as chemistry, physics, and biology.
